  • Teacher & Staff Support and Retention – Prioritizing a living wage for all NISD teachers & educators (including bus drivers, custodians, instructional assistants, and cafeteria workers). Providing professional development opportunities and a positive work environment to attract and retain top educators.

  • Fiscal Responsibility – Ensuring transparent budgeting and effectively allocating resources for maximum impact.

Dr. Sonia Jasso Experience

Dr. Sonia L. Jasso brings over a decade of dedicated service in educational leadership, with extensive experience in leadership roles that have shaped critical campus operations. Her expertise spans student services, academic affairs, enrollment management, community outreach, athletics, dual enrollment initiatives, international programs, student success and engagement initiatives, and campus-wide retention strategies.

As a proud first-generation college graduate, Dr. Jasso understands firsthand the transformative power of education. She is passionate about empowering individuals to reach their fullest potential, a commitment she carries into her role as the Director of High School Programs at Palo Alto College. In addition, she shares her knowledge as a faculty member in the School of Business and Leadership Programs at Our Lady of the Lake University and the School of Professional Studies at the University of the Incarnate Word.

Dr. Jasso’s dedication to education and community service extends beyond the classroom.

She holds a Ph.D. in Leadership Studies from Our Lady of the Lake University, a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from The University of Texas at San Antonio, and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Texas Tech University.

Dr. Jasso’s personal and professional dedication continues to make a lasting impact on her community and the field of education. She is committed to fostering student achievement, supporting teachers and staff, ensuring school safety, promoting fiscal responsibility, and strengthening community engagement.
